Clyde Valley Hawks 32 v 0 Glasgow Tigers

Once again the BYAFA Scottish Division was the centre of attention this week with both fancied teams in action and recording emphatic victories. The Hawks with this victory over a game Tigers outfit can seal the Scottish Division with a victory next week and gain home field advantage throughout the playoffs.

Clyde Valley took their time in the first quarter, with only a Lee Nelson thirty-six yard run for a score separating the sides. The Hawks took the game by the scruff of the neck in the second period when Nelson scampered in from forty eight yards, followed by two more scores, outpacing a floundering Tigers' defense from twenty-one and forty-three yards out. Tom Chapman connected with two of the extra point attempts to leave the Hawks in a healthy 28 - 0 lead at the half and with Nelson notching over a hundred yards rushing in one quarter.

Craig McMillan blasted in from twenty-three yards out early in the third as the Hawks showed no mercy. Chapman added the extra two once more to leave the Tigers well in the distance. Nelson sped almost eighty yards for yet another score, taking his figures to well over two hundred yards and five touchdowns for the day. An Andy Reynolds interception set up Ben Hann to smash his way in from the two and Chapman once again obliged with the conversion. Lee Collins rounded the scoring off when he jinked his way to the end zone from forty-five yards out.

North Lanarkshire Rams 56 v 22 Moray Firth Dolphins

The Rams kept up the pressure on conference leaders Clyde Valley with yet another high scoring Dolphin side that seems to find it relatively easy to put points on the board against the big boys. The Rams jumped into a first quarter lead thanks to Wallace taking a punt return back forty yards to the end zone, but failed to trouble the score board again during the quarter.

Two Donaldson runs from twenty and ten yards out were rewarded with scores and with one of the extra two point kicks being good the North Lanarkshire side eased their way into a 20 - 0 advantage by the end of the half.

Gall latched onto a twenty-yard strike to pad the Rams lead in the third before Brian Mackain struck for the Dolphins. Taking the ball some fifty yards out, he dashed into the end zone to bring the scores to 26 - 6. The Rams struck back with a McTague one-yard with the extra two point kick again proving good.

The fourth period proved to be highly entertaining with the sides notching 38 points between them. Wallace snared a thirty-yard pass to take the Rams to the forty point mark only for Mackain to take the kick off back over sixty five yards to pay dirt. David Kerr weighed in with the two extra point kick as Moray Firth refused to lie down. Donaldson then notched his third Rams touchdown of the afternoon when he eased himself in from the ten only for Andrew Campbell to scoop up a fumble and reduce the arrears for the battling Dolphin side. Kerr once again converted the kick to leave the score at 48 - 22 in favour of the home side. Wallace rounded off the proceeding with a twenty yard run which was once again converted to leave the score at a breathless 56 -22.
