The final tournament of the BYAFA Junior Kitted season took place at the most spectacular venue imaginable at Inverclyde's Battery Park. With both PA Knights and the MK Pathfinders, the only two sides capable of denying the Raiders the National Conference not competing, the home side strolled to yet another tournament victory in front of the largest crowd of the season. The Pathfinders also saw themselves slip from contention from the Championship game on 11th September and will now compete for the 3rd place trophy. The emergence of Glasgow Tigers, who in their first tournament were far from overwhelmed is encouraging and the experience will stand then in good stead for next season.

The Raiders will face PA Knights for the National Championship Trophy while the Pathfinders will take on the Yorkshire Rams in the BYAFA five on five finals at the Norman Green Stadium Solihull, Solihull, on September 11th. More details are to follow.

Inverclyde Raiders 12 v PA Knights 28

The Knights gained their second tournament title when they overpowered Conference leaders Inverclyde Raiders to become the only side to beat them twice this season. In doing so the Knights supplant the Pathfinders from second spot. The Knights' John Hatcher also claimed his second Tournament MVP of the season.

The performance of the day had to go to the Norwich Devils who edged the Raiders 18 -12 at half time and looked in control. Only two interceptions in their own end zone, both returned for scores, helped to secure the Raiders victory in the pick of the day's games.

The final conference tournament will take place at Greenock on August 28th, with the Scottish side still in the driving seat to take the inaugural title and favourites for the play offs. The day should again prove to be one of fast furious and skilful football and will be used to showcase the five on five version prior to setting up a series of separate regional conferences next year.

MK Pathfinders breezed through Pool B with their defense attempting to match their offense score for score, to set up a highly competitive final.

The Knights once again left it late edged past the Pathfinders, their final score coming in the last two minutes to give them the breathing room they needed in a pulsating game of the highest quality. Don Valley Viper's Luke Harrison claimed the Tournament MVP honours for the fast improving Sheffield outfit. The teams next meet on 14th August for the inaugural Norwich Bowl, home of young Devils side who are progressing quietly and effectively.
