Cadets

Leicester's young Eagles were forced to battle to the last throughout the day to achieve their championship victory. A narrow win over Selhurst Snipers, which went down to the wire, saw them face old foes Birmingham whose win over an emerging Studley Bearcats gave them the edge. In a thrilling final, it was down to whom stopped the other team from scoring would will, as they traded touchdowns on each drive. In a thrilling game, full of pace, passion and exceptional skill the Eagles just about deserved their victory.

In the 3rd/4th Game both sides proved their potential to be future champions, with the Snipers securing the victory late in the game. Birmingham's Gary Lafthorne took the Cadet MVP honours with a stunning display all afternoon.

Juniors

After a tiring week, it proved a journey too far for the Eastbourne Cardinals. A week ago they were in Glasgow playing for the World Schools Championship. This week they travelled south to meet up with the hottest club junior sides. With the both sides they and the Leicester Eagles putting the battling Don Valley Vipers to the sword in close encounters the expected crucial match up saw the Eagles run out winners in a very competitive final. Junior MVP honours went to the Cardinals Mathew Caley who looks to have an exciting future ahead of him.

Youth

With two sides into the finals it was odds on that the Eagles would notch this championship game, and so it proved. With the "Red" and "Blue" sides both disposing of the Don Valley Vipers it was a matter of which Eagles side finished taking the honours. Youth Tournament MVP Simon Murphy led the "Blues" to a comfortable victory over the "Reds" in the last game of the day.

A special thanks goes to BAFA National Development Officer Chip Buttery for being on hand to present the trophies, medals and MVP awards. A special mention to BYAFA Flag Co-ordinator Paul Sinclair who has worked so tirelessly and efficiently to make the season the success it has become, along with the players, coaches and match officials without whose efforts none of this would be possible.
