Interviews

Prior to appointing a person to a role, for positions that requires regular contact with and young people, a formal or informal interview should take place to:

  • Verify the applicant's qualifications.
  • Make enquiries regarding the applicant's experience of working with young people.
  • Clarify the expectations and responsibilities of the role
    • Establish any training needs.
    • Explain Child Protection procedures.
    • Ensure the applicant signs up to the organisations Code of Conduct.

    It is advisable that the organisation's Welfare Officer be in attendance at such interviews.
