Code of Conduct for the Protection of Young People

Establishment of good recruitment procedures may assist in deterring potential perpetrators of abuse. It is also necessary that all BYAFA members are aware of their responsibilities, not only to ensure the best possible protection is given to young people, but also to avoid allegations of poor practice against themselves.

The following Code of Conduct provides details of the standards of acceptable and unacceptable behaviour when working with young people. The Code is divided into three categories: good practice, practice to be avoided and practice never to be sanctioned.

All BYAFA members are expected to adhere to the Code. Any reported allegation of none compliance will be dealt with in line with the BYAFA Disciplinary Procedures.
