Norwich Devils 20 v 8 London Blitz

The Devils continued their remarkable season, notching up their fifth consecutive victory and claiming a play off berth. They were made to fight for this result, a sign of the ever-improving young Blitz side.

The first quarter was a defensive battle, with Norwich once again showing how good they are defensively. The only points coming when they stopped a Blitz running back in the end zone to notch two points for a safety.

With a 2 - 0 lead it looked like only a matter of time before the Devils would ease out to a comfortable victory. The Blitz however had other ideas and stunned the South Eastern Conference leaders when they darted in for the only score of the second and third periods to give then a 2 - 6 edge.

It wasn't until the fourth that the Devils finally broke back against a determined Blitz side. A two yard blast by Nicky Martin restored the home side's lead and with the conversion kick being good they increased their advantage to 10 - 6. Hereward Mcgillivray weighed in with a fifteen-yard sprint to give Norwich some breathing space, and the two point conversion allowed them to breath easier at 18 - 6.

In a repeat of their opening score the Devils defense once again pinned down the Blitz running back in his own end zone to seal their 20 - 6 points win.

As expected the Blitz are improving with every game played and it is only a matter of time before they shock someone. The Devils have their sights now firmly set on an unbeaten regular season, which would give them home field advantage throughout the playoffs.
