Tamworth Trojans 0 v 64 London Warriors

The Trojans went the same way as the other English sides who have met London this year in the final game of their inaugural season. The Warriors having outscored any of their divisional opponents by more than a hundred points this campaign were as ruthless as ever.

The Warriors lost no time in scoring, Ariel Mofondo collecting the opening kick off and taking it back from over sixty yards out to open their account. With the conversion being unsuccessful they eased themselves a head 6 - 0 before the Trojans had got off the starting blocks. Not surprisingly Devar Gayle was next in the action, sprinting clear of the home defense to add a further six points to his impressive season tally. With the two additional points also in the bag the visitors stretched out to 14 - 0. Two short scoring strikes from Jerome Allen to Matt Russell, the first from the eight and the second from six yards out saw the Londoners well in command. With one of the extra points attempts being good they were ahead 28 - 0 by the end of the first quarter.

The Warriors continued to have success through the air in the second period. A six-yard hook up between Allen and Will Bryce netted a further six and with conversion being good they moved out to a comfortable 36 - 0 advantage. Allen had further success when Dominic Fevrier-McPherson hauled in a twenty-yard scoring pass followed by Juma Woodhouse snaring one from twenty-two yards. While an additional conversion added a further two points, the Trojans found themselves 52 - 0 in arrears at the half.

While the Tamworth side battled gamely, they conceded further points to Gayle who scampered in from twenty-two yards out, while rookie Oliver Springett scored his first touchdown of the season when he blasted in from eight yards away.

It was a tough end to their rookie season for the Trojans. In their previous five games they had proved to be competitive and a match for anyone else in the division. In fact they gave up almost as many points in this one game as they did in their remaining games. They should not go into the close season downhearted, when they compare this result with the other defeats the Warriors have inflicted on the rest they will realise there is very little to choose between the remaining teams.
