The Tigers edged their way past a competitive and improving Rams side to maintain their hold on the Northern Conference.
With the first quarter scoreless as both offensives met stiff resistance, it took a Derek Russell Field goal in the second quarter to break the deadlock and steady the Tigers' nerves a little. Ian "Sparky" Dick continued his excellent season by finishing off the next Glasgow drive with a nine-yard dash for a score and Russell split the uprights to add the extra two. A further Russell field goal eased the Tigers advantage to 14 - 0 before Blair McTague replied for the Rams, finishing off their drive with a three-yard burst and bring the game back to a close 14 - 6 at the half.
Dick restored the fourteen point margin in the third with a three-yard run, only for North Lanarkshire to come storming back in the fourth. A Dunn six-yard grab saw the Rams claw their way back into the game at 20 - 12 and when Reyes snared a wayward pass and returned it forty-five yards for a score the Rams were truly back in this pulsating match up. A Dick six yard blast finally sealed this narrow victory for the Glasgow outfit who are making a habit of winning these close games.
Although the Tigers head the Northern Conference, there are still four sides in with realistic chances off making the playoffs in what is proving to be one of the most competitive seasons in recent years.
