The first quarter failed to give a clue as to the high score this game would produce as both sides battled away without troubling the score board. Matt Lord broke the deadlock in the second period with a ten-yard scamper for six points. Tigers' Rafe Shammugan latched onto Kris Kennedy's swing pass to tie the scores with Kyle Wilson running in the extra two points after a high snap to edge the visitors into an 8 - 6 lead as the half expired.
Matt Lord restored the home side's advantage early in the third with a thirty yard dart to the end zone, giving the lead back to the Wolverines 12 - 8. The pendulum swung back to the Tigers when Ian Dick took a punt return back sixty yards to score. Dick increased the advantage on a twenty-seven yard burst and with Derek Russell booting the extra two points the Glasgow side slipped into a 22 - 12 lead. Matt Lord pulled in a wayward pass to take the interception back fifty-five yards for a score with David Mead running in the extra two to leave the score at 22 - 20 to the Tigers as the teams entered the fourth.
A David Mead pass to Adam Broomhead for a thirty-yard touchdown once again edged the Wolverines in front in the fourth. Chris Little broke away on a seventy-five yard dash to increased their lead to 32 - 22 as the Lancashire side seemed to have put the game away. Ian Dick drove in from the two and Russell nailed the two point kick to leave the game at a nail biting 32 - 30.
