London Olympians 32 v 11 Kent Exiles

Once again apologies go to the players of Kent Exiles and the fact that neither of their scorers are mentioned. For some unaccountable reason the Exiles management find it impossible to fill in and submit the score summary sheet from which all these reports are based. Coincidentaly they are the only team in all of BYAFA which finds this difficult.

The Exiles found themselves six points in arrears from the opening kick off when rising star Devar Gayle collected the ball on his own thirty and promptly outflanked the visitors kick off team taking the ball back to score with the game barely ten seconds old. Not to be outdone by his earlier effort, Gayle then collected a punt on his own thirty-five and repeated the exercise, leaving the Exiles 12 – 0 without barely doing a thing wrong.

Kent forced their way back into the game with a thirty-five yard field goal only for Dominic Fevrier to snare a thirty yard touchdown pass and add the additional two points to leave the home side 20 – 3 clear at the half.

Once again the Exiles came back with a twenty-yard touchdown run and two point after kick to make a game of it only for Gayle to break their hearts with a seventy-one yard blast to restore the Olympians advantage. Alex George completed the home sides victory with a twenty-six yard dive.

The Exiles can take a great deal of satisfaction from their performance and they continue to show the steady improvement they have made of the last year. They are now in a position to compete with the very best in their division.
