Champioship Game
Clyde Valley Falcons 36 v 6 MK Pathfinders

The long awaited match up between the two separate conference powerhouses resulted in a well-earned victory for the high flying Falcons. Kyle Blake to the opening hand off, sprung left behind to exceptional blocking and scooted the length of the field almost untouched to give Clyde Valley the best possible start. Frazer Anderson grabbed the extra point to edge the newly crowned northern Conference Champions further ahead 7 – 0. William Winter then hit a diving Colin Nichol in the end zone from around twelve yards out. Winter then found his brother Mark in a virtual repeat of the same play as the latter slid across the rain sodden turf just over the line to move the Falcons into a 14 – 0 advantage. Nichol once more snared a Winter pass, again in the right hand corner from around eighteen yards out to leave a strangely subdued Pathfinder outfit 22 – 0 adrift at the half.

If the first half was bad for the Pathfinders, the second started off almost as badly when Nichol stepped in front of His man, clawed the ball from the air and virtually killed off any hopes of a Milton Keynes revival with an eighteen yard score. Mark Winter poured salt into the room holding onto the extra two point pass. Finally Simon Wilson gave the vociferous Pathfinder’s cheerleaders something to encourage them when he held onto a slippery ball and worked his way into the end zone to open their account. With the game clock ticking down Winter shovelled a pass into the path of the outstanding Nichol leaving the Pathfinders beaten but by no means bowed in a game that was a credit t both organisations and junior football in general.
