The Tigers became the first side to complete a season double over the mighty Hawks in almost living memory as the Glasgow side continued to display the improvement and momentum built over the last three years.
The home side took a first quarter lead when Ian Dick sped in from twenty-three yards out on a greasy and puddle strewn surface. Philip Forrest added a further six points when he gathered in a fumble in the end zone, and with Derek Russell kicking the extra two points the Tigers held a 14 – 0 advantage at the half in a game that could still go either way.
Ian Dick blasted in from six yards out to extend the Tigers’ lead and they claimed a further two points when Brandon Stenson sacked the luckless Hawk’s punter in his own end zone to leave the visitors 22 – 0 in arrears at the end of the third.
In the fourth Clyde mounted an all out effort to reduce the arrears with Andy Reynolds dashing in from nine yards to bring the score back to 22 – 6. The Tigers however claimed the last score of the day when Alan “Joker” Bodel sacked the Hawks Quarterback in the end zone to notch up the Tigers second safety of the afternoon.
