The Rams eased their way into contention in the Northern Conference with a steady display over the Hawks.
Andrew Noble with an amazing seventy-five yard scorching run put the Rams ahead in the first quarter with kicker
Paul McGovern sealing the extra two. Despite mounting several drives the Hawks were not able to force the ball
home and the North Lanarkshire side eased their advantage to 16 – 0 when Noble went in again from close on
twenty yards and McGovern claimed the extra points.
Clyde Valley battled through the half and continues to press throughout the third, conceding a safety which
seemed to be claimed by the entire Ram defense. However with the score only 18 – 0 as the third period concluded
it was still too close to call.
As the game Hawks began to tire, wide out Alan Martin clung onto a forty-yard strike to virtually seal the
victory. With the Hawks again attempting to move the ball, defensive lineman Kane gathered up a fumble and
carried the ball back sixty-five yards to kill of the Hawks resistance.
The Hawks still have every chance of forcing themselves back into playoff contention as all the sides in the Northern Conference
have this ability to beat each other. Their destiny, like that of the classy Rams is in their own hands.
