Clyde Valley Hawks 0 v 8 Glasgow Tigers

For almost the first time in living memory the Hawks were held scoreless as the Tigers continued to show their vast improvement over the last three years. As the score line suggests this was a true defensive battle, given that the Glasgow side notched up thirty points a week ago in their narrow loss to Lancashire.

Dean Jardine’s booming punts helped to give the Tigers the field advantage for most of the game but it was not until the third quarter that the Glasgow side finally broke the deadlock. With the ball on the Hawks one-yard line Quarterback Kris Kennedy wrestled his way over on a sneak. The reliable boot of Derek Russell added the extra two points to complete a low afternoon’s scoring.
