The Cardinals go back to winning ways having conceded their previous fixture to the Olympians, to notch their third
victory of the season and cement their spot in mid table of the Southern Conference.
The first quarter ended scoreless as Bath sought to ram home their home field advantage, with the Exiles fighting
tooth and claw to hold the current National Champions at bay. The Cardinals broke the deadlock early in the second
period when Simon Hallissey scampered in from seven yards out. Chris Hunt applied his accurate boot to the
conversion to give Bath an 8 – 0 advantage. As the visitors sought to fight back Nick Hooper sacked the Kent
quarterback, forcing him to fumble. Alex Barton was the first to react picking up the ball and darting twenty-one
yards to score. Hunt once again obliged with the conversion to pad the Cardinals lead to 16 – 0. As the quarter
wound down Chris Taylor sped in from close on fifty yards out to reel off twenty-two unanswered point.
With Hunt joining the ever growing Bath injury list Alex Crute stepped up to score his first points for the club
with the conversion. With the Kent outfit 24 – 0 adrift the game was virtually over by the half.
The Exiles came out fighting for the third quarter, their defense blunting the Bath attacks and their ground game
beginning to wear down the home side, making several decent drives but failing to take the advantage to get
themselves back into the game. The game moved into the fourth with the heat of the day beginning to tell on both
sides. William Wagstaffe hooked up with Kyle Latore from thirty-five yards to complete the Bath scoring for the day.
