This game truly lived up to expectations as the Tigers shook the Olympians from the start. Kris Kennedy launched a super forty-eight yard pass to Derek Russell and although the Tigers were forced to punt they recovered the ball on the London sides eight-yard line. Kennedy rolled out right to find a virtually unmarked Russell in the endzone for the opening score. Russell notched the extra two with his boot to push Glasgow to and 8 - 0 lead.
The Olympians came storming back. With the Tiger defense keeping a sharp hold on Devar Gayle Quarterback Jerome Allen took to the air hitting William Bryce over the middle from thirty-yards to open their account. Allen found a sprawling Will Lawson in the end zone for the extra two as the scores became tied.
With the Tigers backed up close to their own line a poor snap sailed over Russell's head as he went to punt. The London outfit regaining possession on the Tigers one. Gayle swept in from the right to score and with Ariel Mofondo forcing his way up the middle to push the Olympians out to a 16 - 8 lead.
The Tigers continued to shoot themselves in the foot, with Dick fumbling the ball and Laurenz Sammans making the recovery for the Olympians. Allen hit Bryce in the left-hand corner of the field, the latter stepping off his left foot and in to score. The strangely subdued Gayle powered left to pad the Olympians lead to 24 - 8. With the half coming to a close Allen struck Mukoro from twenty-three yards and then Bryce down the left once more from twenty-six to add a further score. The extra two point pass to Lawson being too high. The Tigers found themselves 30 - 8 adrift at the half without rally deserving to be that far down.

Gayle who had been kept quiet all afternoon suddenly took a hand off swept right and headed down the right touchline. He waited for fullback Alex Guidens to come steaming out in front of him, threw a bone-jarring block on one of the last two defenders in his way and promptly scooted into the end zone from seventy-three yards out. Bryce leapt salmon like to claw in the two point extra attempt as the Olympians moved to flattering 38 - 8 advantage
The Tigers were no means out of the game despite the score line. A series of dropped passes when they had yards of open field ahead of them only served to remind them what might have been. Finally they got their reward when the Kennedy to Wilson combination that had been so effective all season finally struck gold with Wilson snaring a thirteen-yard scoring grab.
Still the Tigers continued to fight in game of the highest quality but the Olympians held off the late surge to take the title with a 38 - 14 score that did little to recognise the ability and quality of the Glasgow outfit who contributed to the best game for years.
