Bristol Aztecs 24 v Kent Exiles 0

The Exiles were by no means outclassed in this fixture with Bristol, who much like last week patiently waited until the fourth quarter to overpower their opponents and maintain their lead at the top of the Southern Conference.

It looked initially as if the visitors could be in for a torrid time when the Aztec's quarterback Gareth Thomas hit receiver Adam Stenlake from eighteen yards out to open the scoring. Will Parkhouse booted the extra two points to give then an early 8 - 0 advantage. To their credit the Exiles stuck to their task and blunted the Bristol outfit, moving the ball but failing to punch home the tying score.

The half was reached with the Aztecs still shading the contest and the game moved into the final period before they could finally relax. Stef Williams padded the lead with a twenty-three yard scamper with Parkhouse nailing the extra two. As the Exiles began to wilt, Nick Proctor scooted in from sixteen yards out with Laurence Cull gaining the two point conversion to seal a hard earned 24 - 0 victory.

The Exiles have come on leaps and bounds this year and if they continue the progress they are going to prove difficult opponents for everyone in the weeks to come. It looks as if the Aztecs fixture with the Olympians may well decide where the Southern Conference title is going this season although Bath Cardinals will make life both difficult and interesting for both of the more fancied sides.
