Harrogate Hawks 0 v 32 Glasgow Tigers

The Tigers kept up their challenge for a playoff place in the Northern Conference with this emphatic win over the Hawks.

The First quarter was relatively quiet and showed little signs of the deluge to come. Tiger's Ian Dick scampered in from three yards out to give the visitors the early lead and Chris Harvie ran in the extra two to give last season's Plate Champions an 8 - 0 lead.

The Tigers stormed away with the second quarter with Raef Shammigan going in from six yards out. Former Inverclyde Sharks player Darren Banks ran in the two extra points as the Glasgow side stretched their lead to 16 - 0. On their next drive Quarterback Craig Wilson found William Baxter in the end zone from seven yards out and Derek Russell booted the extra two, as the Tigers took a firm grip of the game. As the half drew to its conclusion Banks blasted in from the six-yard line and Russell again sealed the extra points to leave the Tigers in a convincing 32 -0 lead at the half.

The third was only a few minutes old when Shammigan collected his second score of the day from eight yards out. Craig Wilson sneaked in for the additional points before the Hawks called the game. Their next two fixtures, against the North Lanarkshire Rams on July 18th and the Clyde Valley Hawks a week later, will seal the Tigers' playoff chances.
