Lancashire Wolverines 32 v 0 Harrogate Hawks

For the second consecutive game the Northern Champions had the game won by the end of the first quarter. For the second successive game the Hawks had lost the game by the end of the first period. A quick David Mead pass to Sam Fogg saw the later dash into score from fifteen yards out and with Matt Lord going in for the extra points the Wolverines cruised into an early lead. Pinning the Hawks offense virtually on their own goal line, Jonathan Kohler burst through to down the Harrogate quarterback on the end zone and stretch their lead into double figures.

Adam Broomhead hauled in a fifty yard Meade strike to put the Lancashire side into a 16 - 0 lead, only for Fogg to increase if further when he jinked his way to his second score of the afternoon from thirty-three yards out. Matt Lord then notched a further score with Mark Shepherd hanging onto the extra two-point pass as the Wolverines swept into a formidable 30 – 0 advantage by the end of the first quarter.

Fogg notched his hat trick in the second quarter, storming in from thirty-five yards out and the Mead to Shepherd combination worked perfectly to add a further two points. Shepherd then rounded off the days scoring by latching onto another Meade strike as the Wolverines cruised to a comfortable victory.

As yet the Lancashire defense has not given up a point this season and the number of first downs conceded can still be counted on one hand. They head off to the BYAFA Festival of Football next week to meet old friends and rivals, Bath Cardinals in a special challenge game. This should at least prove to be a far more competitive encounter with both sides looking forward to the match up.
