London Blitz 24 v 16 Kent Brewers

The Blitz edged their way to the Plate Final with this victory over a rapidly improving Brewers side that have won many friends in their rookie season for their competive nature and how they conduct themselves both on and off the pitch.

Reiff Vanner opened the home sides account with a thirty-yard blast for a score with Ariel Mofondo crashing in for the extra two. Mofondo claimed a score for himself with a dazzling seventy-eight yard run to give the Blitz a 14 – 0 advantage only for the Brewers to strike back with an eight yard touchdown pass to close the half at 14 – 6.

A pair of two yard runs from the home side side’s Adeodatus Twumasi in the second half was split by another short yard scoring strike by the visitors, as the game remained competitive to the last. Kent will go away and build on some superb performances this season and increase their squad side for next year. The Blitz in the meantime will go onto meet the Northern Conference qualifiers in this year’s plate final.
